Could this new Progressive Insurance commercial be the first TV ad featuring a gay couple? I mean, they don’t come out (no pun intended!) and say they’re gay, but I don’t know, they just look like they should be a couple. Am I totally wrong here?

I think it’s obvious the couple in the commerical is gay. The guy on the right is even wearing a shirt with a rainbow on it.
I don’t think it’s a good thing, but I won’t go as far as Taylor. I don’t have any hatred towards gays…..I just don’t approve of the lifestyle and don’t particularly like seeing it promoted.

I have trouble with this commercial. My issues are not with the potential of the couple being homosexual. There is enough “stereotype” in this spot to generate conversation. However, if this is a commercial targeted to the gay demographic, it comes off a bit condescending with the rainbow shirt and body language. The watch part confuses me. Is there something in the gay community about watch swapping? LOL!
