It’s finally Friday! The workday’s almost over and there’s no better way to celebrate it (at least no better way that doesn’t involve booze) than another Freaky Friday Flashback. This week’s WTF?! moment in pop culture takes us back to 1997. It was a wild year–a year when the Spice Girls topped the music charts, a year when Bill Clinton got in trouble for messing around with a certain blue-dress-wearing intern, a year when yours truly was finally graduating and moving on to college. Exciting times.

It was also a year that brought us one of the most bizarre moments, not only in sports, but in history. 1997 was the year that Mike Tyson bit off Evander Holyfield’s ear during a boxing match:

While that’s shockingly WTF, the best was an interview with Mike after the fight. Mike’s obviously not remorseful about his actions. He’s got children to raise, for fuck’s sake!
